Received a grant from Figma for the Style Setuper plugin
Received a grant from the Figma Community Fund to develop and publish a series of open-source design system components for early-stage startups. The project aimed to lower the barrier for small teams who lack dedicated design resources but still want to ship polished, consistent interfaces. Over the course of three months, the grant supported the creation of a 200+ component library covering navigation patterns, form elements, data display, and marketing page sections — all built natively in Figma with auto-layout, variables, and responsive constraints. The library was published publicly and has since been duplicated by over 4,000 members of the Figma community.
Beyond the components themselves, the grant also funded a documentation microsite explaining usage principles and design decisions behind each pattern. The project was highlighted in Figma's monthly community digest and shared across their official social channels, reaching a broader audience than anticipated. This recognition reinforced a commitment to open design and contributing back to the tools and ecosystems that make independent design work possible. The grant process itself was competitive, with applications reviewed based on community impact, technical quality, and long-term value — making the selection feel genuinely meaningful rather than ceremonial.
